Greek debt and the moment of truth

It is a sad moment in the history of humanity. A moment that has repeated itself countless of times and even more so in recent times. The financial crisis of the last few years has placed Greece, among other countries, in quite a fix. The government has introduced austerity measures to satisfy the capitalist leaders of Europe and such organizations as the IMF. The International Monitory Fund is a cesspool of bean counters who may know a lot about finances but have absolutely no understanding of human well being, imposing rules and regulations on each country it assists, insisting that the governments start running their country more like a ruthless corporation and demanding cuts in spending for social programs that may not seem important to them, adding to the brain drain and the dumbing down of the world population. Social programs are vital; people pay taxes so that they can support the state in which they live which in turn supplies the constituents with services like Medicare, education, infrastructure improvements, heritage site keep up and more. Greece is the birthplace of democracy, or at least it is the region from which democracy was developed and evolved. It is sad to see the deterioration of such a culturally rich country because of fund mismanagement and the insistence of the bean counters to further cut social programs that will, in the long run, destroy any chance the Greek people have to live a trouble free life.

The IMF has no understanding of human well being nor, I believe, the purpose of the existence of governments. Somehow the IMF thinks that by looking at numbers alone they can resolve a dire problem that is artificial in nature. Governments are responsible for the well being of the people. Governments exist to serve the people not the other way around. Governments should be investing to improve the infrastructure and to improve the educational and medical systems so that the well being of the people who pay the taxes that keep the government running can live in peace and prosperity.

Education is not something that should be toyed with. Education is a... well i was going to say a god give right out of habit but I am an atheist... education is a basic and important human right. Education should be improved rather than scaled down and it should be free. Free, however, does not mean poor quality. Public schools should be funded and nurtured so that they can be on par, if not better, than the best private schools. Education is the real key towards prosperity. Cutting down on education will only produce generations of people with no tools or experience to benefit the future of a nation.

Universal Medicare is also important and it is also a basic human right that should never be overlooked. people who are not affluent and barley make enough to live are entitled to free medical access which should be as good if not better than what the private money loving and expensive medical doctors provide. The Hippocratic oath seems to be long forgotten and I decry the lack of ethics of Doctors these days for they seem to pursue profit over the well being of the people. What has become of this world?

It is not just Greece that is experiencing these troubling signs of degrading human rights and benefits. Nor is Greece the only country that is witnessing and erosion of morals of governance. The problem is pandemic and reaches and touches every nation and individual in the world.

Greece is being asked by the IMF to privatize many of the services that should be run by the state. Why have people forgotten the reason why a government exists? Why do governments focus only on profit and forget that they have a duty to their taxpaying citizens? The finical problem is an artificial problem created by greed money loving ignoramus idiots without a shred of humanity. It is these greedy money lovers that would like to see the entire population of the world subjugated in to a form of compliant slavery without calling it such. Salves to the financial system, slaves to the corporations, slaves to do the biding of the greedy and arrogant money holders.

Some of the conditions being imposed on the Greek government is for them to privatize and sell of public assets to corporations that would turn around and start charging the people higher fees for what they should be getting for free in the first place. Financially minded people will say that the government cannot give things out for free and that everything costs and that the government is doing a poor job to begin with and they will outline the benefits of privatizing and robbing the people of what belongs to them and charging them for it too on top of the taxes that they pay. Granted that governments are doing a very poor job at maintaining these services and improving them but the real reason for that is again that the governments spend more to satisfy the money holders and corporations rather than the people who actually pay the taxes and vote for politicians based on empty promises.

The financial problem is an artificial one and it is a problem that can be resolved but the rich, affluent money holders stand too much to lose by resolving this artificial problem and do and have done all they can to further deny the people their inalienable rights and a chance for a better life.

Governments have forgotten the real reason why they exist and this may be the greatest tragedy of our times as we continue to witness our inalienable human rights being eroded with the empty and unlikely promises that it is for the better when it really is not.

When did the bean counters gain so much power? How did we allow them to become so powerful that they now threaten to destroy the lives of billions of human beings? We should fight; peacefully fight, for the rights that have been stolen from us by the money holders. Not just from the Greek but from every person of every nation. Just look around you and see for yourself how life is becoming intolerable for the average person. Just look around and see how people seem to be less educated and less knowledgeable. We are being turned in to sheep. And we are being made to pay for it too. Something has to give. Change is more a necessity now than ever before. The financial system which governs our lives is a transgression against our basic human rights. the soon we all agree on that the sooner we can begin to work together for a solution to this unbearable problem that now plagues not just Greece but the entire world, one way or the other. It would be foolish to deny the flying pink elephant in the room yet sadly people are too near sighted and they only consider the short term gains.
