The quagmire and the coming storm

So the Russians do not want Bashar to step down because they have a lucrative business going on with them, and also because it is their hand in the Middle East. The Turks don’t want Bashar to step down because they are terrified of a Kurdish uprising and probable declaration of independence. the Israelis do not want Bashar to step down because they are terrified of a free Arab world much more than they are of a despot who terrorizes his own people. So they, the Israelis, are doing the best they can to make the Arabs look as bad as possible to thwart the efforts of the Palestinians of gaining recognition for their statehood ... can any one remember the price that was paid by the Palestinians for recognizing Israel as a state?  the Israeli government of Netanyahu where taken by surprise when they had an uprising of their own ... a terrorist attack , followed by a bombing of Gaza , followed by the accidental killing of Egyptian border patrol . Following that, elements in Gaza ...

The Hypocrisy of the Lebanese; the Still Uncured Plague that Rapes my People

The Hypocrisy of the Lebanese; the Still Uncured Plague that Rapes my People On the 30th of July 2011, my wife and I attended a candle light vigil march in Montreal, in solidarity with the protesters in Syria, and especially with the children of Syria. I met a young Lebanese compatriot who was also participating in the march. I thought to myself that it is good that some Lebanese are liberated from the homeland mentality of follow-the-sectarian-leader-no-matter-what, and has decided, for himself, to participate in a march for dignity and true solidarity with the oppressed. Then I spoke with him and was severely disappointed. From the start he flaunted his diseased mentality to me, claiming that what “these people” need is the sage guidance of the Hakim (the doctor or Wise Man). A reference to one of Lebanon’s extremist Christian leaders, Samir Geagea , leader of the infamous Lebanese Forces . I was utterly stunned to see someone living in North America with such an anachronistic sen...

Natanyahu The Mad usurper of peace.

I seam to be on a "MAD" tangent... but here goes anyway....... If what CIA man Robert Baer Sais is true; That the current rightwing Israeli government is planning on attacking Iran's nuclear facilities this fall, then for certain, the world will be going to hell. For those of you who think the world has already gone to hell I tell you that what is coming if the Israelis do attack Iran is far worse than anything we have seen so far. The Israelis, without thinking of the consequences, plan to do this attack as a way to divert attention and swart the efforts of the Palestinian declaration of statehood expected this September. Undoubtedly the US will be forcibly drawn in to this war. The Israelis are once again pursuing the wrong approach out of their arrogance and unwillingness to compromise for the cause of peace. Netanyahu’s rightwing government would rather condemn the world to darkness rather than make peace with the Palestinians, as they should have done more than...

Gaza Flotilla hampered by political manoeuvring

Israel seems to be not only "allegedly" involving itself in cross-national attempts of sabotage , as witnessed last week, but also exerting a harsh diplomatic effort to prevent the flotilla from reaching Gaza.  Obviously, the Israelis do not want a repeat of last year’s fiasco and are thus trying their best to prevent the Flotilla from sailing on to its intended purpose. If the Flotilla does move and reach Israeli waters, all eyes are going to be fixed on the way Israel handles this event with great scrutiny, not something the Israelis want. To the extent that the Flotilla might actually succeed when they find that the Israeli forces are being cautiously timid in front of the eyes of the media.  Israel has recently attempted to discredit the Flotilla by spinning its propaganda machine as best it could. A video, allegedly made by a gay participant claiming that the Flotilla organizers rejected his participation on the grounds of his sexual orientation and accusing the orga...

Palestinians are beginning to learn an important lesson; non-violent protests will get them where they need to be

The Palestinians have begun to learn a very important lesson . One that Gandhi preached and practiced following in the footsteps of one Jesus of Nazareth. While the Palestinians have every right to be angry and an unquestionable right to fight for their right to exists without the oppression of a merciless occupation force, the methods Palestinian freedom fighters have employed have proven to be fruitless over the last few decades. Resorting to violence and terrorism never got anyone anything, nor does a nation stand firmly when its foundations are socked with blood. Violent methods also delegitimize an otherwise just cause, especially when the casualties are innocent civilians, women, children, elderly and peace loving individuals, not just because its bad for public relations, but because the murder of innocents is out right wrong (haram), and unacceptable. The way to peace is through peaceful means. The majority of Palestinians are Muslims, but Islam is a religion that reveres Je...

US threatening Palestinians with suspension of Aid should they choose to seek a unilateral deceleration of state hood at the UN

Like this article from Haaretz claims, that the United States Senate "Resolution 185 calls on Palestinians to halt bid for unilateral recognition at UN" I believe this is a mistake on the part of the US senate in just proves that the US government and all its branches do not learn from their mistakes. For all the promises that Obama made in his 2009 Cairo speech now seem to be, more so than before, empty words. Granted that the Palestinians have resorted to barbaric methods to fight for their lands, killing innocent Israeli citizens, one should not deny the very real fact that the Israelis are guilty of the same barbaric acts against the Palestinians and the Lebanese. The difference is that Israel always had, and always will have, the upper hand with their American funded, technologically advanced, morally deficient military. Granted that the Israeli citizens have suffered greatly at the hands of Palestinians. But the Palestinians have suffered far more and continue to do...

Gaza flotilla round two.

Gaza is a Palestinian territory that is administered by Hamas, the extremist Palestinian resistance group. Hamas is designated as a terrorist group though the truth is they are an extremist resistance group that utilizes terror to drive the Israeli occupying force back. There is no doubt that the methods employed by Hamas are barbaric at best, indiscriminately killing innocent civilians, children women and elderly. However, it is important to note that the Palestinian people have been subjected to a slow genocide by the Israeli Defense Force also. When a more powerful and better equipped aggressor comes by and begins to bulldoze ones family home , burn your crops, drive you out of your country, shoot dead innocent children, women and elderly, one’s mind can no longer see reason and thus resorts to any means necessary to fight back. Both Israelis and Palestinians have a valid, albeit immoral, reason to terrorize and kill each other. The cycle of violence did not start 60 or so odd y...

Netanyahu makes intentional mistake after intentional mistake

So the not so great Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has come up with a decision to, not only toughen up on Palestinian "terrorists" in Israeli jails, but also making sure that when and if these "terrorists" are released they will not have a chance at a new life.  Like most conservatives, Netanyahu probably thinks that education is "absurd " especially when given to prisoners and more so if they are Palestinian prisoners. Maybe he does not know that the key to get these "terrorists" to stop being "terrorists" is to give them an alternative to what they already know... an education that will enable them to change their lives and take up jobs as productive citizens. Obviously Netanyahu, in my opinion, will achieve the following by doing what he has proposed: 1. Insure that when the Palestinian prisoners are returned to whatever new Palestinian is standing at that moment that they will be unproductive trouble makers. 2. Insure that when ...

Livini says that Netanyahu not serious about peace; was there any doubt about that to begin with?

Israeli opision leader MK Tzipi Livni (not that i care much for her or her policies but...), giving a speach to the World Jewish Congress, highlights what many know to be true. The obstacel to peace is not the palestinians, not the unity deal between the PA and Hamas, not the Palestinian push to declare state hood by this september, but rather Israli Prime Minsiter Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu and his coalition of far right Israeli parties and elements. Was there any doubt to begin with?  Those who are knowledgeable, who read the news, who know the history of the place, know this fact all too well. These same knowledgeable people also know that Israel has the largest and most powerful  lobby in the USA.  These same people know, for a fact, that Israel has been successfully subverting  the Palestinians through the use of their powerful propaganda machine that has successively ...

Free Amina Abdallah Araf al Omari, the brave gay girl from Damascus

Amina Abdallah Araf al Omari, has been abducted off the streets of Damascus by the criminals of the Syrian regime of Bashar al Assad. Amina has been a very vocal opponent of the Assad regime since the start of the popular revolt against him in Syria earlier this year. The Gay Girl in Damascus blog  has been a rare window in to the atrocities that are taking place in Syria, where the regime is killing protesters at random. A few weeks ago a 13 year old child, Hamza Alkhateeb  was brutally murdered after he was severely tortured, severely beaten, electrocuted, castrated, and then shot dead. A man  who was caught during one of the protests has come out and spoken of the kind of brutality exercised against him, and others like him by, the criminals of the Assad regime. Details were also conveyed by the Aljazeera journalist, Dorothy Parvaz ,  who was detained, about a month ago by the very regime, and who has witnessed the atrocities of Syrian jails. Amina, the gay...

Prominent Israelis Push for the Recognition of Palestine

I have been reading Israeli news papers for a while now. long enough to know and understand that they, like us, have had enough of the war and wish for real peace . we need more mutual efforts like this from both sides.  people standing up for what is right without resorting to violent means. peace is the only defensible option for both the Palestinians and the Israelis....... nothing is black and white.... between these two diametrically oposed colors lies and ocean made up of the shades of gray that run between them

US says Hamas must recognize Israel and renounce terorisem

so the mighty US has spoken and, for once, I agree in principle with this thought. Right now, the best thing Hamas could do for the cause of the Palestinian people is to actually recognize Israel, as there is no logical or realistic way that Israel is going to cease to exists, the proverbial ignored pink elephant flying all around the room, must now be faced. with honesty and honor. condoning and conducting the murder of innocent children, women and elderly citizens of Israel is no better than the merciless slaughter of Palestinian children, women, and elderly citizens. Hamas would be no better than the IDF and certianly very un-Islamic if it contijnues to condone and conduct such barberous acts. it is time to face the facts; Israel is not going to go away; killing inocent children, women and elderly is unjustifiable and will never acomplish anything significant what soever. it is time for Hamas to wake up and realize that the now hav...

The World is Waking Up

Arabs revolutionariness are no longer alone. slowly but surly there is a world movement made up of the youth and of freethinking liberal people. Jewish people are standing up and protesting  Israeli defence policy against the Palestinians   people are not afraid anymore and people have had enough of the lies that govern our world. the world of freethinkers want positive change and a move away from the appalling clock and dagger politics that have ruined the lives of many innocent people. Anonymous , the internet group is slowly growing and i think no one is taking them seriously yet... what they will evolve into is a good question but i like the direction they are going.. i may disagree with some of their ideas but i understand why those ideas are in place... for instance... i am not against a centralized bank of information on all our activities. ...

Netanyahu does not want peace

I did not expect anything spectacular from President Obama’s speech today. Nor was I impressed with his words unsupported by actions in the direction of those words. But what amused me was the reaction of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Calling the idea of borders based on the pre 1967 war “indefensible”. As if the Palestinians have any sort of military significance! against rock throwing, home cooked rocket lunching, humiliated population. Has Netanyahu forgotten the history of his own people that he should impose a similar kind of indignity against the Palestinians? Granted that the methods employed by the Palestinians are crude and barbaric at best, but let us be honest and look at the facts; These are a people who were displaced and denied their homeland. Why does that sound familiar? These where a people who were of the salt of the earth. Driven from their homes, denied their identity, and denied their dignity, murdered, slaughtered, children women and elderly...

Hezbollah and the Betrayal of the Arab Spring - Part 4

As a human being, I can never condone what has been done against the Jewish sematic people over the past two thousand years, culminating in the demonically atrocious holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis against them during the second world war. Equally, I cannot condone the Israeli nation’s atrocities that have perpetrated against the sematic Palestinian people. Just as I can equally not condone the atrocities carried out by the Palestinians and Hezbollah against Israel and the West. Just as I can never condone the west’s atrocities, under the falls guise of the war against terrorism, against the eastern world. Violence begets violence begets violence begets more violence, a never ending spiral of despair and desolation. Militant Hezbollah must go and they must go peacefully rather than at the end of a gun. If Hezbollah does not relinquish its militancy then they will be guilty of dragging, unwillingly, the entire region into a war that will dwarf the atrocities of the Second World War....
