The Coming Hurricane of Change.

It is time to intervene in the affairs of Syria. Be they internal affair or not. We, as a human race, should no longer stand idly by while we witness the slaughter and destruction of innocence. Not for religious dogma or celebration of self righteousness, not for political ambitions, not for financial gains, but for the welfare of our humanity and our compassion.  Innocence is being mercilessly raped time and time again. Children are being cruelly disposed of, depriving the future of humanity of its greatest assets. The time to intervene has come upon us and we must act now for the preservation of our humanity. It does not matter who you are, where you come from, what religion you believe in, what political ideology you follow, what way of life you choose for yourself. Stand up for humanity. Stand up for the dignity of the human race. Not for a specific race, not for a single peoples. Not for a single dogma. But for all that is living on earth and in this marvellous universe i...

Why I Became an Atheist -Part 3

Does god exist? no one knows for certain, though many will theories and say god exists not, and many more will quote obscure religious texts that are thousands of years old to prove their point that god exists. No matter how one looks at this question the only real answer is that the belief in god is one of personal preference. Who am I, or anyone else for that matter, to say that god exists or not. I do have an opinion though, and my opinion is just that; an opinion. I have thought long and hard about this question on my quest to quell my existentialist crisis.. Read book upon book, research upon research, consulted philosophy book, religious texts, and scientific experiments and knowledge, discussed things with priests, imams and rabies. In the end I came up with a tentative conclusion; it does not matter if god exists or not, what matters is if we believe in such a supernatural entity or not. God does not have to exist for us to believe in him, or her, or it. This is the found...

Why I Became an Atheist -Part 2

With my new found knowledge of various religions and the realization that they all basically said the same thing, I once again became at odds with myself as I tried to ease the conflict within me that was pulling me in different directions; what is my religion? After many sleepless nights I decided to ask the one person I could trust to give me an honest answer; my mother. My Mother is a wonderful  person. I think she would have made a competent scholar had she been given a chance  But a chance she did not get for the war had started and all of her generations dreams where torn asunder. In spite of all the hardship, my mother managed to keep her mind active and her knowledge fresh as she pursued her interests whenever she could find herself a decent book.  So my mother was well read on various topics that concern our world, mostly, and some of the more esoteric s...

Why I Became an Atheist -Part 1

I was born in country that was embroiled in a bloody civil war between, supposedly between, 18 different sects and their respective "champion" warlords in rather mountainous coastal area not exceeding 10,500 sq. km. The civil war itself had nothing to do with religion or the holiness of any cause. It was all incidental that the leaders of the existing political parties where drawn out according to the demographics of Lebanon based on sectarian values and differences. The warlords knew this all to well and did not shy away from using this fact to their advantage, trumping up their rhetoric against their rival warlords who where of another sect, driving their followers to believe the lies that spouted out of their collective mouths. The War raged for 15 long bloody years. Atrocities beyond description where committed in the name of one religion or the other.  ...
